Title: The Summoning, The Awakening, The Reckoning
Series: Darkest Powers
Author: Kelley Armstrong
Genre: Young Adult
My Rating: 3.5 out of 5
Challenge: Feminist Book Challenge 2013
Summary: This Trilogy focuses on a fifteen year old girl called Chloe. The day of her first period she sees a man no one else can and gets sent to a group home for troubled teens, diagnosed with a mental illness. Yet not everything is as it seems, something strange is happening and she must figure out what is really happening before it is too late. Danger, mystery and love, left me hooked.
My opinion: I fell in love with this Trilogy pretty much from the first page. The characters were interesting and so was the plot. My favourite thing would have to be how Kelley Armstrong didn’t sugar coat the ugly truth of things. Like the realistic situation of living on the streets, and when Derek goes through his change. I also liked the mix of supernatural and science, the genetic experiments really peaked my interest. I think this Trilogy is defiantly worth reading and I would recommend this to anyone who wants a fresh taste of supernatural and romance.

2013 Feminist Challenge - The Mortal Instruments
This series is written by Cassandra Clare. It follows a young girl who's life is thrown upside down when she starts to see things that nobody else can. This leads her to a hidden world full of dark secrets and untold dangers.
I love this series and have read it more than once. I suggest this to anyone who likes Young Adult fantasy, with a romance story intertwined.

2013 Feminist Reading Challenge
So this is basically a reading challenge that focuses on strong female main characters.
http://thehidingspot.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/2013-feminist-reads-challenge-sign-up.html?m=1 if you want more information about it.
I am going for the harder challenge which is 10+ books.
I love reading and last year read 73 books.
I think this will be an interesting challenge and will be documenting it here.
Every time I read a book I'll write a summary/review on here.
Sometimes the books won't be related to this challenge, but a majority will.
So hopefully you will join me on this adventure and enjoy!

Following My Dreams...
I have decided since I have no commitments at the moment I have decided to try out for 'Australia's Next Top Model'.
I have always loved dressing up and taking photos. When I was younger my Mum put me in a modelling course. I loved it!
I wanted to try out in 2011, but I was in Queensland when the auditions were in Adelaide and I was in Adelaide when they were in Queensland so I missed out.
I think it was for the best considering I was still at school and it was my last chance there.
This is a huge step for me. Even if I don't make far or even get in I'll be proud of myself for trying. I am going to give it my all!
I have already started practising. I have been trying poses in the mirror and taking photos of myself to see what looks good. I have also been wearing heels everyday and practising the catwalk walk.
I feel a bit silly doing it, but I know that if I don't practice then I won't get far.
Even if I don't make it I won't give up! I'll take some classes and try and find work.
I hope by trying I can achieve my dreams or at least inspire others (like my younger siblings) to go for your dreams, because you will never know unless you try and give it your all.
Wish me luck and know that I love you all.

Long time...
Wow, its been a while. I have had a bit going on lately..
I graduated from high school!!! Which is exciting for me, especially since both my parents didn't.
Lately I have been staying at my boyfriend's house a lot. I like it here. Reccently his step-mum had a baby girl, she is adorable.
The store I was working at closed down and they were supposed to relocate me another store but haven't so I guess I've lost my job.
My boyfriend and I are trying to look for full-time jobs now that we are done with school. We would like to save up enough money to move out of home.
I am scared about having to pay bills, but excited to be on our own.
Since I have no job or school right now it has been like we our on holidays, sleeping in each day, not really doing anything.
I feel lazy sleeping all day and am trying to get up earlier and do something with my days.
If I can't find work anytime soon I am considering volunteer work.
Hope all of you are well and happy holidays.

Movie Project
I wanted to try and get into acting, but I have to wait to the start of next year to do the course I am interested in. So for now I am doing youtube videos. I was going to create a web-series (still might) but for the time being I am doing some short movies. I have gotten a team of my friends together and we have written a script, it is all coming together.
For this first project we have re-written Little Red Riding Hood, but with a more modern twist. It is kind of funny how I really want to be an actor yet I have given myself a small role.
I will be playing the mother, my seven year old sister Skye is the main character and my friend Scott is the "wolf". In our version there isn't really a wolf, it is a stranger who meets Amy (Skye) in the park.
I am so excited as this is coming together. We have school holidays starting next week so the actors can rehearse and possibly film too. (This is a really short movie)
As soon as it is finished I will be posting here and on youtube and everywhere else!!!!
Hope you guys will like it.

My Dreams
I've always wanted to make a difference.
Ever since I was a little girl I've wanted to be an actor or singer/dancer. I always loved having my photo taken so my Mum put me in a holiday programme at Racheal's Modelling School in Adelaide. I had a lot of fun!
I also use to write and tell stories to my younger brother. My Dad use to make up bedtime stories for us then I'd make up my own. When I look back through those books now I can barely understand what I wrote. (Hadn't learnt to write properly)
I was in plays at Gawler East Primary school and LOVED it. I played a fairy in 'A Midsummers Dream' and an angel in my year 5 Christmas concert. We had the coolest drama teacher ever!
During year 5 I had moved in with my Dad. When Dad and his girlfriend (Lisa) got pregnant they decided to move into her house. So at the end of 2004 I moved to a new suburb and started a new school in 2005.
I found it hard to make friends because I was still such a child yet all the kids at my new school seemed very grown up. The girls in my class were really dumb too. (I don't want to seem mean but c'mon, ear 7's thinking we could live with no trees or that I must have an eating problem because I am skinny and still eat healthy.)
They didn't have a drama teacher at that school but a man did come in and put together a short play about smoking. I played a minor character called Simone who thought smoking was cool.
The next year I was in Wakakirri, for those who don't know what it is:

The next year I was in Wakakirri, for those who don't know what it is:
Wakakirri encourages students to learn through the creation and sharing of stories. Students can tell stories through a range of arts mediums, sharing them both live and online. Established in 1992, Wakakirri is Australia’s largest arts challenge for schools involving over 20,000 students in every state and territory.
Wakakirri has live events in 16 locations, a live audience of 30,000 and online events involving 64,000. Wakakirri stories reach over 1 million people each year. Wakakirri is free to enter and accessible to every school in Australia. (http://www.wakakirri.com/wakakirri-primary/about-wakakirri-primary)
Our school did a our story through dance. I tried out for the lead but my friend got the part. (and was amazing at it!) I played one of the artist, the dance was weird but it was a lot of fun. We got to perform on stage twice. It was so much fun.
In primary school I was also a singer in a band. In high school we attempted our band again but with some new friends. One of the girls didn't like me and tried to have me kicked out. The band broke up after that.
Later in high school I played a small part in one of our musicals.
I still am working on my dreams of becoming a performer, I know it will be hard work.
Right now I am applying on My Star for beginner jobs and trying to find acting classes in Adelaide.

Hey
Hey, I have been meaning to write.
In the last 2 weeks I have been trying to get out more and see people, instead of sitting at home watching other people have fun on TV. Last Friday I went bowling and on the Saturday my best friend Jessica came over and cooked dinner with me.
This Saturday I went bowling at another place that had put put golf as well. It was fun!
Before I mentioned TV shows. At the moment I am obsessed with 'The Vampire Diaries'. Sad that I have to wait until October before season 4 comes out. They don't show it in Australia at the same time so I have to watch it online. So excited after season 3's cliff hanger.
I started reading the book but they are completely different.
I have some videos and photos I'll upload for you.
- Enjoy

Mad Hatter Tea Party
It was my birthday party last night. Lots of fun and a lot of people dressed up but not everyone.
I brought a new camera with my birthday money before the party. It takes amazing photos!
We had a costume competition, the winner got a block of chocolate! We also played some drinking games like 'I never..' it was a great night!
My Mum made my awesome cake to fit the theme. Everybody seemed to enjoy it.

Hello
Hi my name is Kazzie, I turned 19 yesterday.
I was watching 'Pretty Little Liars' last night and they found Maya's hidden website. I'd thought of doing a blog before but that reminded me, so here I am.
Basically I plan this to be a blog about me and my life. Kind of like an online journal I guess. I don't know if anyone will ever read it. That doesn't really matter. Sometimes you just need to say something but don't want everyone on facebook questioning it. Not that a lot of people comment unless I'm mad, or something really good happens or it's my birthday.
I am not really religious. It's not that I don't believe but I was never around people who did. The only times I've been in an actual church have been funerals and a girl guides practice camp.
I have always lived in South Australia. Haven't travelled much but would love to one day! =D
